Telefónica and Schindler join Forces to provide IoT Connectivity for Elevators and Escalators

Telefónica will be the IoT-connectivity partner for Schindler‘s digital offering for smart elevators and escalators called “Schindler Ahead”.

This cloud-based digital platform is a fully digital closed-loop maintenance, emergency services and information system. With the help of AI that analyzes cloud-based data from connected elevators and escalators it provides predictive maintenance, improving equipment reliability and uptime and delivering insights to better operate buildings. Passengers van enjoy greater convenience through interactive and personalized services. Offering network connectivity through one single provider is getting more and more important as digitization advances in the building management sector.
Telefónica provides IoT-connectivity services via its global roaming network, ensuring service and connectivity for Schindler Ahead customers worldwide.

With the agreement, Telefónica will provide Schindler with their managed connectivity Kite Platform, which allows centralized, real-time visibility and management of connectivity for elevators and escalators.
