IoT China take a lead in Internet of Things

The Edge Computing Consortium (ECC) has been officially established in Beijing through a joint venture by Huawei Technologies, Shenyang Institute of Automation of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), Intel Corporation, ARM, and iSoftStone. Iits stated goal is to build a cooperative platform for the edge computing industry that will foster industrial best practices and stimulate the healthy and sustainable development of edge computing through cooperation between government, vendors, academics, research, and customer sectors.

Yu Haibin, Chairman of the ECC and Director of Shenyang Institute of Automation, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that ECC will bolster distributed industrial automatic self-control architecture as well as promoting industrial development through standardization. He believes that industrial development is at a turning point, with industrial automation technology systems evolving from layered architecture and information silos to IoT, cloud computing, and Big Data analytics architecture.
